Die Goo Goo Dolls sind eine US-amerikanische Alternative Rock-Band aus Buffalo, New York, die seit 1986 besteht. Bandgeschichte 1986 gründeten John Rzeznik und Robby Takac zusammen mit George Tutuska in Buffalo die Sex Maggotts als Vorläuferband der Goo Goo Dolls. In der Anfangszeit waren sie eine reine Coverband, schrieben aber immer mehr eigene Stücke und veröffentlichten 1987 schließlich ihr Debütalbum unter dem Bandnamen The Goo Goo Dolls.
