+ Info...

When Gary Hoey was fourteen, he would often hang around outside of Boston's renowned Berklee College of Music, make friends, and then offer to pay them for lessons. Sensing that he should devote all of his time to music, Hoey dropped out of high school, and began playing Boston's local clubs, teaching guitar to others on the way. He auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne to replace Randy Rhoads. In 1993 he put together his own trio...

Hocus Pocus
by Gary Hoey
on the album Animal Instinct
Tab by Sean Kasun (seank@u.arizona.edu)

This is probably Gary's most well known cover. I watched him play it
live at the Hard Rock in Phoenix last Jan. (remember me Gary? I was
the guy who had you sign every one of your albums)

I believe the intro goes like this:

------------------
------------------
------------------
------------------
-4-----4-----4----
-2-2-2-2-2-2-2----

He then does some other overdriven stuff, before he gets to the
lead in:

-15H17-17-17-17--17-17-15H17-17-17-17-------------------------
-15H17-17-17-17--17-17-15H17-17-17-17-------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------

Then he gets to the main riff:

-12----12~-10----10~-8----8~-7---7~-5---5~-3---3~-------------
----13--------12-------10------8------6------5----0-4-5~------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------

There's another version of this riff which he does later:
(Tremelo pick this)

-12-12-12-12-8-8-8-8-10-10-10-10-7-7-7-7-8-8-8-8-5-5-5-5------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------

-7-7-7-7-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0--------------
-------------------------------------------------0-0-0-0-4-5--
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------

And right after that he does an insane version, which I can't figure
out.. I think it starts like:

-12------12------10-------------------------------------------
----10-8----10-8----8-7--and so on----------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------

He likes to use wah in this song, so make it funkay ;)
