LAREINE were a visual kei band founded in 1994 by KAMIJO (Vo) and MAYU (Gu). They are mostly known for their romantic approach to music: most of their songs are connected to each other by a dramatic story-line and sometimes the songs are close to being too grotesque with their many flourishes, but LAREINE still manages to find a suitable musical balance. Kazumi left the band in 2006. After that, MAYU disappeared and then Kamijo and Emiru announced the disbandment of LAREINE. Kamijo is now producing music with HIZAKI in a band named Versailles.
