Alexandria "Sandi" Thom [1] (born August 11, 1981) is a British singer-songwriter from Macduff in Aberdeenshire. She released her first single in 2005 and received a great deal of publicity for webcasting her gigs from a basement in Tooting in 2006. Charlie Brooker commented in The Guardian “if her sudden rise to stardom WASN’T the end result of a shrewd marketing campaign, the implications are terrifying.
