Hailing from the South Carolina coast, Zach Deputy has infused his earthy blues, roots-rock and soul with hip-hop beats, dance hall rhythms and a bit of the tropical humidity of Calypso and reggae. Maybe it is a natural result of living and performing along the Southeast’s beaches for the last four or five years, maybe it is a conscious desire to spice up the intuitive simplicity of his native, regional R&B with the exotic rhythms of the islands.
